From 4 to 8 July, the XVII International Congress of Computational and Mathematical Methods in Science and Engineering (CMMSE 2017) was organized in the town of Rota, Cádiz, Spain. Several members of the group took advantage of this opportunity to present the work they have done in recent months. On this occasion, the attendees were Ester Martín Garzón, Juana López Redondo, Nicolás Calvo Cruz, Miriam Ruiz Ferrández and Savíns Puertas Martín.

Last June 1st, our partner Savíns Puertas Martín made an exhibition of a part of his work at the III Doctorales of the University of Murcia. The event, which took place at the University itself on 30 and 31 May and 1 June, brought together young researchers, particularly PhD students, from most of the fields of knowledge: from Arts and Humanities to Mathematics or Biotechnology, being the latter in the area where his contribution was made. A project of the SAL research group is involved in the Google Summer of Code for the third time in a row.

The P2PSP, one of the projects included in the High Performance Computing and Algorithm group research lines, is taking part of the GSoC program as a mentor organization. GSoC is an international program in which Google awards stipends of 5400$ to all students who successfully complete a requested free and open-source software coding project during the summer.

In previous years we had students from countries such as Russia, India, Germany or Canada. Thanks to their work, we have achieved several improvements in the protocol, we focus on its massive use with topic like security and efficency.

Most of the P2PSP mentors are mates of the SAL group. This year the list is growing:
